Stud Poker

Being one of the oldest card games poker is gaining popularity day by day. After the option of online poker has become readily available, it has become a great option for fun all well as an income source. To learn the tricks to win a game it is necessary to know how to play it. There is a huge variety of poker games. Each of these poker games have different rules associated with each of them. There are also different options when it comes to betting. Some of the specific options are Limit versus No limit and the option to choose between single or ring game and a tournament.

There are lot many variations in poker having the same base but different formats or little change in rules. There are generally three different varieties of poker. Classified on the basis of card-dealing and betting.

Straight

It is one of the oldest form of poker. A complete hand is dealt to each player, and the players bet in a specific round, where raising and more increase in the amount of bet is allowed. This game of poker is used for final showdown, but gradually more complications were introduced into it.

Stud Poker

After the straight poker a new form was introduced called stud poker. The cards are dealt in a prearranged combination of either face-down and face-up rounds, or streets, with a round of betting following each. Earlier the game had three cards but it changed to five. A new concept of seven-card stud has gained a lot of popularity. It deals two extra cards to each player( containing three face-down, four face-up).

Draw Poker

This game of five card draw gained popularity among all other variations. A complete hand is dealt to each player, all of them face-down, and the betting is over players are allowed to make a change in their hand to improve it,this is done by discarding unwanted cards.

Flop poker

There are two variants in it called as the Omaha and hold-em. It is quit different from other variations here cards are incompletely dealt and with face-down cards, proceeding with a number of face-up community cards which,it is used by one or more players to make a five card hand.

There is no such thing as the “official rules of poker” as the rules are made by the casino or the players playing it. But some care has to be taken for specific variations like Roberts rules of poker, Texas hold’em rules, Omaha poker strategies, pot limits, stud and stud high-low, pineapple, lowball, draw, Razz etc. These rules make the base of the game and a player makes the strategies too win the game.

At the end of the day remember what poker is, a game. The point of a game is to have fun. If you can make a little money off of it then that is great. But the most important thing is to have fun. If you are not having fun you lose either way.

Everyone wants to know the secret of becoming a good cards stud poker player. There are qualities that you need to possess if you want to win the game. Take note that not all of them can be learned. o You must be good with math. There is no other game that requires great math ability than cards stud poker. It is truly a thinking game. It involves calculating odds on the spot and making decision right there.
o You need to have good memory. Forgetting about your card can make a difference of good call and embarrassing one. A sharp memory can enable you to calculate the odds. You can memorize if your opponent is representing four of a kind. This can also make your aware of the flush or folds
o You need to have focus. When you are playing for huge bets, concentration is important. You need to have a sharp mind no matter how long you have been playing. This is the major rule in gambling. The best player doesn’t sleep or fade away.
o Patience is required in any cards stud poker. You need to realize this virtue. Just because you are not winning for the last hours, you pair of 6′s isn’t a good call. If you opponents made a raise then you just have to go for it. The lucky streak may go your way.

There are people who have the capacity to become a great player. All it takes is to master a game. Add up the sharpness of mind and memory skills. There are a lot of people who win cards stud poker based on watching their opponents. People who commit themselves on learning the game will be competent enough to win. However, remember that this game is ultimate thinking game. It needs sharp logic and focus. You can’t learn the strategies from the book. The combination of reasoning, concentration and proficiency is the key to become pro in this game. Great players are born with talents and money making skills.

There are poker games that can be grasped at the basic level and bit of study. There are games that can be won by memorizing the stating hands, counting cards and odds. There are also poker games that could be won through educated guesses and approximation. In this card game, information is available. The person who understands the process correctly has the advantage of winning and making more money out of the game.
